Photography Tour of the Hebrides, March 9–14, 2027

Physical demands: Moderate

The Scottish Hebrides are one of Europe’s most spectacular destinations for landscape photography. Each island has its own character—from dramatic cliffs and mysterious mountains to white sandy beaches and volcanic formations. On this six-day photography tour of the Hebrides in Scotland, we’ll take you to both the Inner and Outer Hebrides, where some of Britain’s most iconic photo locations await.

During the trip, we’ll visit several unique islands, including the Isle of Mull, the Isle of Staffa, the Isle of Eigg, and the legendary Isle of Skye—often called the crown jewel among Europe’s photography destinations for nature photographers.

Here, dramatic coastlines, mist-shrouded mountains, green valleys, and mysterious rock formations come together, making the area a paradise for landscape and nature photography.

Iconic photo spots in Scotland

During the photography tour, we’ll visit several of the most famous and spectacular photo spots in the Scottish Hebrides, including:

Morning on the Isle of Mull

  • Old Man of Storr

  • Quirang

  • Fairy Glen

  • Bay of Laig

  • Staffa

  • Calgary Bay

  • et al.

We’ll meet at Edinburgh Airport, where our journey begins. From there, we’ll head west through the Scottish Highlands to the coastal town of Oban—the gateway to the Hebrides.

From Oban, we continue by ferry to the Isle of Mull, where we’ll stay for two nights at the comfortable Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa. From here, we’ll explore Mull’s dramatic coastlines and magnificent natural scenery, including a morning session at the beautiful beaches and landscapes around Calgary Bay.

During our time on Mull, we’ll also take a boat trip to the Isle of Staffa—famous for its spectacular basalt columns and rich wildlife. Here, we can photograph the unique rock formations and, depending on the season, even puffins.

On day three, we continue on to the Isle of Eigg, where we’ll visit the beautiful Bay of Laig beach, which offers views of the dramatic islands of Rum and Skye.

The journey then continues to Portree on the Isle of Skye, where we’ll be staying in a central location that serves as the perfect base for exploring some of Europe’s most iconic photo spots. Here, dramatic landscapes such as the Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, and Fairy Glen await—as well as lesser-known spots that offer fantastic opportunities for capturing unique landscape photos.
