Färnebofjärden National Park - Photo: Magica

Workshop - Slow Photography in Färnebofjärden National Park

October 23, 2026

Welcome to a day where nature takes center stage—and where photography becomes a way to experience it in depth.

In Färnebofjärden, we are greeted by calm waters, vibrant forests, and a landscape that constantly changes with the light. Here, it’s not about chasing photos—it’s about pausing, observing, and creating mindfully.

When the fog lifts over the Dalälven River, when the wind ripples the water’s surface, or when light suddenly breaks through the clouds—it is in those moments that we work. Not by rushing on, but by staying put.

This is a day when we slow down. A day when we let the place set the pace instead of the schedule.

We move through the landscape at a leisurely pace, stopping when something catches our attention and giving ourselves time to really look. Sometimes it’s the sweeping views—sometimes it’s the small details that would otherwise go unnoticed.

You'll get to experience:

  • how the light changes the same place from minute to minute

  • how stillness can become a motif in itself

  • How Presence Affects Your Photos More Than Technique

This is where photography becomes more than just pictures—it becomes part of the experience.

Photography as an experience—not a performance

In line with both the trend toward spending time in nature and gaining a better understanding of it, as well as the slow movement, the focus is shifting from performance to experience.

In this workshop:

  • There's no pressure to “deliver perfect photos”

  • Exploration and curiosity are encouraged

  • The process is valued just as highly as the result

Photography for Everyone—No Matter What Camera You Use

You don't need any advanced equipment to participate.

Whether you're taking photos with a cell phone or a DSLR, we follow the same basic approach:

  • to see the light

  • understanding composition

  • to sense the right moment

We meet you where you are. If you’re a beginner, we’ll provide you with clear and simple tools. If you’ve taken photos before, we’ll help you deepen your visual awareness and develop your artistic expression. It’s not about what camera you have—it’s about how you use it.

Learn to See—Not Just Take Pictures

Throughout the day, we'll guide you step by step on how to develop your visual perception.

You'll get:

  • Practical tips right in the moment

  • help you discover motifs you would otherwise have missed

  • feedback that helps you understand why a picture works

We work in small groups, which allows for personalized guidance and reflection.

The goal isn’t for you to leave the day with “finished photos”—
—but rather for you to leave with a new way of seeing.

This day is perfect for you if:

  • longs to get out into nature and truly experience it

  • wants to teach you how to take photos without stress or pressure

  • is curious—whether you're a complete beginner or have experience

  • appreciates a peaceful atmosphere, small groups, and personalized tours

It's as much a nature experience as it is a day of photography.

When the day is over, you'll take home more than just photos.

You have brought:

  • a deeper understanding of light and landscape

  • a sense of calm that lingers

  • a new way of looking at both nature and photography

And perhaps most importantly—the feeling that you don't have to rush to create something that matters.
